Zagreb Folk Dance Ensemble

Croatian American Cultural Center proudly
announces the arrival of the Zagreb Folk Dance Ensemble, Croatia’s premier
performing dance group, for a concert at our club on October 5, 2005. This
is a rare opportunity to witness – and experience first-hand – Croatian folk
dancing, music and singing at its very best.
Formerly known as Joza Vlahovic, the
Zagreb Folk Dance Ensemble is the largest and longest-tenured presenter of
Croatian folkloric dance in the world. Ensemble founder and director Dr.
Ivan Ivancan is widely respected for his expertise and attention to
authenticity. All of the richly detailed traditional costumes accurately
reflect each dance’s region of origin, while the ensemble’s live orchestra
enhances the award-winning choreographies with music played on traditional
instruments.
